If it’s one thing we do well, it’s stick with programs that work for our industry. One of those is SHOT Show Exhibitor Academy.

Offered for the third year running, the 2016 event will take place June 20-22 in Las Vegas, Nevada. During the academy, those exhibitors attending will hear from some top-notch speakers discussing ways to realize the most return on the investment they make when attending SHOT Show in January, including your booth staffing, booth design, social media efforts both before and after the show and much more. You’ll also have a chance to meet with staff from our show management partner ConvExx, as well as Freeman, our convention organizer at the Sands, representatives from NSSF’s headquarters hotel, the Venetian/Palazzo, and a number of floral, hotel, modeling agents, catering and lead retrieval vendors that work closely with SHOT Show.

One of the things we received great feedback on from last year’s academy was our afternoon round-table sessions. We’ll have a number of these interactive sessions again this year, covering a wide variety of topics. It’s easy to get “boxed-in” when you’re manning your booth for four days, and that makes it a challenge to digest all the things going on around you and take advantage of those that can improve both your presence at the show and business throughout the year that follows SHOT. Last year these round-table discussions, where exhibitors of all size and scale join together for discussion, provided a great exchange of ideas and experiences that helped many embrace an improved vision of how the show operates and find new ways to better their own experience in Vegas.

We think the now-annual SHOT Show Exhibitor Academy is so important that NSSF will pick up the tab for nearly everything from the moment you arrive. That includes your hotel stay, breakfast and lunch both days of the event, and evening cocktail receptions.  All you have to do is book your flight to Vegas. But seating is limited — we accept a maximum of 125 exhibitors — so I encourage you to register now. This year we would especially like to see companies that have not attended our previous two Academies take advantage of the opportunities the event has to offer.
