Exhibitor FAQs

  1. 1
Who can attend the 2018 SHOT Show®?

Attendance at the SHOT Show is RESTRICTED to the shooting, hunting and outdoor trade and commercial buyers and sellers of military, law enforcement and tactical products and services ONLY. The show is not open to the public, and NO one under age 16 shall be admitted (including infants).

  2. 2
Is the concealed carry of a firearm permitted at the show?

NO personal firearms or ammunition allowed. Only firearms on display by exhibitors whose firing pins have been removed (and have been inspected by SHOT Show Safety Advisors) will be permitted on the show floor.

  3. 3
Where should I start when reviewing the Exhibitor Resources website?

Review the Budget and the Deadline Checklist first. This will help you decide which items you need for your exhibit and how to succeed at the show.

  4. 4
How do I order electrical for my booth?

Refer to the Electrical Services order form from Specialized Events Services (SES – Sands Expo Center). Check your equipment for the amps/watts needed. In addition to ordering the outlets, you will need to order electrical labor for the distribution of the power. Mark on the order form the dates for which service is requested, and the time requested for electrical to be installed. There is a minimum charge of one hour to install and 1/2 hour to dismantle electrical if the electrical is placed somewhere other than the back of the booth. If you have an island or peninsula booth, you must provide a floor plan with your order showing the preferred location of the outlets or they will place them at their discretion.

  5. 5
Who are the main contractors? What do they provide?

Freeman is the official General Service Contractor providing material handling, furniture rental, custom booth rental, labor, hanging signs/rigging (under 200lbs) carpet and much more. SES provides cleaning, electrical, hanging signs/rigging (over 200lbs), internet, telephone, catering and plumbing.

  6. 6
How do I pay for my services?

To pay for Freeman and/or SES services, you must complete their Payment Authorization forms. They accept check and credit card payments. If you pay for services in advance by check, it is best to bring a company credit card or company check to pay any balance due at the conclusion of the show. Other contractors will ask for payment on their order forms or on their respective websites.

  7. 7
How do I ship my materials to the SHOT Show?

You can ship through a third party in one of two ways. The first is to ship in advance to the Freeman Warehouse where shipments can be received anytime between December 12, 2017 and January 4, 2017. Freeman will then deliver your freight to your booth at your appointed target time. To print shipping label(s), click on the Warehouse Shipping label or the Show Site Shipping label. If you are shipping direct on-site to the Sands Expo Center, freight must arrive on your assigned target day (see below to change your target time) or you will be subject to off-target surcharges. If arriving direct on-site at your appointed target time, drivers must check-in at the Freeman Marshaling Yard first to receive a Freight Door assignment before coming to the Sands Expo Center.

  8. 8
What if I need to ship firearms?

If you are shipping firearms to the Show, you must separate them from all other freight and use the provided Security shipping labels located in the Exhibitor Resource Center. These items will go directly to security and you can pick them up on site from security in room 306 of the Sands Expo Center (Level 1).

  9. 9
What is a Freight Target Time?

This date has been established for the arrival of your freight at the Freeman marshaling yard by your common carrier. This is necessary in order to accommodate the large volume of freight that needs to be unloaded on the limited freight dock space available at the Sands Expo Center. Target dates are listed by booth numbers. If you miss your target date, you may be required to pay a surcharge on material handling. If you ship in advance to the Freeman warehouse, the freight will be at your exhibit space at your designated target date. If you need to change your target date or time, e-mail Brian Nilson of Freeman at brian.nilson@freemanco.com. For more information review the Freight Target Date form.

  10. 10
    What is Material Handling?

Material Handling is the service to move and store your freight from the freight docks to your booth. This service includes off-loading from the delivery truck; delivery to your booth; removing empty crates and boxes; storing the crates and boxes during the show and returning them after the show: and finally delivery of the crates and boxes to your carrier. This service is all provided exclusively by Freeman. It is a one-time charge for incoming and outgoing. See the Material Handling order form for rates.

  11. 11
Can I bring my booth materials using my personal vehicle?

Yes, the privately owned vehicles (POVs) program allows those exhibitors who drive to the show in a POV (no trucks or vans pulling trailers in excess of 10’) one paid trip, one way from either the dock to your booth or from your booth to the dock. Additional trips will be charged to the exhibitor at a rate of $81.15 each way during move-in hours.

  12. 12
What is considered Hand Carry freight?

Hand Carry is permitted if a display or product is capable of being carried into the hall by hand. Only small, two-wheel dollies can be used. Exhibitors with hand-carry freight do not need to arrive on their target time. To utilize this service, your total freight must be delivered in a Personally Operated Vehicle (POV), no commercial carriers and driven by a company employee and cannot be unloaded at any of the loading docks.

  13. 13
Can I get a cart to help unload my booth materials?

A Personally Operated Vehicle (POV) is a vehicle driven by you or your employee and Freeman will deliver the materials to your booth. The first cart load (one trip, one way) to your booth is paid by the SHOT Show. Additional cart loads are charged by Freeman at $81.15 per cart load (round trip).

Delivery must take place during move-in on:
    Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    Monday, January 16, 2017 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

During move-out, POVs will be reloaded on Friday, January 20, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. See the Freeman POV Service form for more information and details of how to take advantage of this program.

The person who checks them in also must check them out and a signature is required. Secure storage areas are located in Hall G (Level 1), Hall D (Level 2) and in the Level 2 ballrooms.
